Veta Georgiades

Veta Georgiades, 97, of Dewitt passed away June 23, 2016 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Veta was born in Syracuse the daughter of Thimi Vangel and Constantina Naun on August 22, 1918. She married George T. Georgiades in 1934. Veta worked for General Electric in Syracuse from 1952 to 1982. Until she suffered a crippling stroke in 1994 she enjoyed cooking, gardening and making Afghans. Predeceased by her husband George in 1992 and son Theodore in March of 2016, Veta is survived by her son James , daughter Katherine (Ken) Lowry. Grandchildren Deana (Gerald) Gugger, Debbie (Jeff) Bennedetto, Mike (Kim) Lowry, Mark (Francis) Georgiades, Sandra (Nick) Virginia, Susan (Kirk Haggestrom) Georgiades, Theodore ( Karen) Georgiades, Janet Georgiades, and her sister-in-law Gertrude (Hawn) Vangel, 17 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held Today, Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4-7 pm and Burns-Garfield "A Life Celebration Home", 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. A Christian Funeral Service will be held Monday June 27, at 11 AM at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd. Syracuse. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
