Salvatore Manfredi, 85, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Friday, October 12, 2018. Born in Staten Island, Sal was known as a hard worker who provided for his family, a dedicated employee of Western Electric for 30 years and a proud member of CWA Union, where he served as President.
Sal raised his family in Syracuse, and with the help of his wife Margaret opened his home to friends and family at any time. Sal loved as good trip to the track and poker games with friends and family.
Predeceased by his wife Margaret; his parents James and Vita Manfredi. Sal is survived by his five children James (Maureen), Robert, Thomas, Mary and JoAnn; Four Grandchildren Cara, Emma, Matthew and Maria; his sisters Bridget Laurino and Nina Errichello, and several nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff of the Iroquois Nursing home for the care given to their father.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2-5 pm at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 E. Genesee St. Syracuse. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Church, Lancaster Ave Syracuse at 10 am on Monday. Burial with military honors to follow at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Food Bank of CNY.
