Ruth (Vanderpool) Dickerson

Ruth (Vanderpool) Dickerson, 89, of Syracuse passed away October 16, 2015. Born in Syracuse one of seventeen children to Grant and Gertrude Vanderpool. Ruth spent her career as an LPN in the neonatal unit of St. Joseph's Hospital dedicating her life to the care pre-maturely born babies. In retirement Ruth discovered a passion as an artist creating beautiful art for her family to enjoy. An avid reader she enjoyed her time at Toomey Abbott serving as the acting librarian.
Predeceased by her husband Clarence and her son Wade McClain
Ruth is survived by her sister Carol Jones her brothers Charles, Ronald, and David Vanderpool. A daughter-in-law Betty Reed. Eight Grandchildren Darrell and Charlotte Wright, Keith and Tracey McClain, Chambala Roach, Ajja McClain, Brandon McClain, and Rashita Reed. 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Tuesday October 20 at All Saints Church 1340 Lancaster Ave Syracuse. A calling hour will be held from 10-11 at the church. Entombment St. Mary's Cemetery Dewitt.
