Rosalie (Levy) Greenstein, 93, born in Linden, N.J., died peacefully on June 18, 2019, at the Menorah Park adult care facility. The first in her family to go to college, Rosalie graduated from Hunter College of New York with a degree in social work. While raising her two children, she also worked for over 20 years as an attendance officer in the Freeport, N.Y., Public Schools. She and her beloved husband Stan loved to travel, and Rosalie handled the planning for all family vacations and trips abroad with her husband. Rosalie loved the theater and attended countless Broadway shows while living on Long Island and after retiring to Florida, continued to attend productions in Tampa. She was also an avid moviegoer and reader. Known as an excellent cook, her tomato-sauced stuffed cabbage is legendary, and her Thanksgiving dinners are still remembered by her nephews as a highlight of their lives. Rosalie in her later years contributed food and recipe articles to the Syracuse New Times and became editor-in-chief of her retirement community newspaper, something that gave her great pride. She is survived by her children, Michael (Heather) of Seattle, and Susan (Debby) of Syracuse. The family also extends special thanks to Maggie Lazore for the companionship she provided to Rosalie, and to the staff at the Inn and the Terrace at Menorah Park for their care and kindness. There will be no services in Syracuse. Burial will be alongside her husband in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Foundation at Menorah Park. www.burnsgarfield.com
