Robert Ahern

Robert Ahern, 83, of Syracuse passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018. Born the son of William and Anne Ahern on January 29th 1935 in Middletown, N.Y. Robert served honorably in the United States Airforce. Robert was a graduate of the ILR School at Cornell University class of 1960; he spent his career as an arbitrator and mediator in labor relations throughout the country.
Predeceased by his sister Jane Fernandez, and daughter-in-law Linda Ahern. Robert is survived by Barbara Ahern and his children Michael Ahern, Susan (Donald) Cook, Kevin (Melissa) Ahern and Catherine Ahern (Marie DeRosa); four grandchildren Amy, Cindy, Jennifer and Stephen; six great grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Ahern family will be held from 11:30- 12:30 on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 12:30. Donations in Robert's name may be made to the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
