Richard Warren Nabinger Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather
Born March 23, 1935 in Binghamton N.Y. Went to school at Broome Community and received a B.S. from Syracuse University. Served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era. After his service he moved to Syracuse in 1961 to start work at General Electric where he continued to work until he retired from Lockheed Martin in 1997.
He and his family lived on Clarendon St. in Syracuse for 45 years until he moved in with his daughter in 2019. Richard was married in 1957 to Cecelia Ann Sexton. They were married for 49 years until Cecelia's passing in 2006.
Richard was very active at All Saints parish church as a parishioner and as a lay minister. He also volunteered for Hope for Bereaved of CNY and WCNY Reading for the Blind. Richard's strong faith and belief in God made him happy in life and comfortable with death as he got sick knowing that he would be going home to be with his wife and family members and that his God would be watching over him.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Cecelia and his daughter Rebecca. He is survived by his brother Ron and his sisters Carol and Judy. His five surviving children Timothy, Sharon, Thomas, Theresa and John. Grandchildren Cristopher, Steven, Richard, Guinevere and Aidan. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at Burns Garfield Funeral Home 3175 E. Genesee St Syracuse, N.Y. 13224 on Friday December 4 from 4-7pm. A private family service will be held at All Saints Parish church on Saturday December 5 at 10:00 am. Donations may be made in his name to Hope for the Bereaved of CNY or WCNY Reading For the Blind. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be live streamed on the church website www.allsaintssyracuse.org
