Richard Allen Crounse

November 19, 1970 — February 2, 2017

Richard Allen Crounse, 46, of Dewitt, husband and best friend of Cindy Carnes, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and mother on Thursday, February 2, 2017at Upstate University Hospital after a brief illness. Rick attended Nottingham High School and was a self-employed home renovator. The world was a brighter place with him in it, and his kindness will be missed by all who knew him. The depth of love Rick and Cindy had for one another was obvious to everyone.

Rick is survived by the love of his life, Cindy; his mother and step-dad, Sarah (Sally) and Randolph Rall of Fayetteville; brother, Donald of Syracuse; sister, Wendy (Nazzareno) Giaccaglia of London, England; father-in-law, Robert and his wife, Margaret Carnes; brothers in-law Robb and David Carnes; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his 'best bud' Rascal. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Donald and Beatrice Sherman, and the Rev. Ernest and Katherine Crounse.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of 6H for their kindness and compassion. A celebration of Rick's life will be held on February 11th for his family and friends, which he would have loved. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society or to GRROWLS (Golden Retriever Rescue with Love Statewide), PO Box 6634, Syracuse, NY 13217.
