Phyllis Jean Williams McGlynn, 89 years, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2020.
She was born in Binghamton, NY to Warren R. Williams and Pauline A. Hover Williams on October 28, 1930. She married the love of her life Edward T. McGlynn on May 15, 1954 in Binghamton, NY. She was an RN for over 40 years, working for various hospitals and doctors in Binghamton and doctors in Syracuse before becoming a school nurse at Liverpool High School. She lived in Binghamton, NY, Lockport, NY, Liverpool, NY, Little River, SC and Syracuse, NY.
She is predeceased by her husband, Edward T. McGlynn, daughter Kelly J. McGlynn, brother Warren R. Williams Jr., sister in-laws Jaunita J. Williams and Marilyn McGlynn, and brother in- law John F. McGlynn. She is survived by her son Sean (Sheila) McGlynn, Syracuse, NY, grandson, Casey McGlynn, granddaughter Erica Potash, brother Donald P. Williams, sister in-laws Betty Williams, Patricia McGlynn and Ingeborg McGlynn, brother in-laws Charles McGlynn and George McGlynn along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Known as Jean by many, she loved to paint and work on crafts, singing in the choir, baking and cooking, traveling/camping, reading and had a passion for gardening and landscaping. She enjoyed volunteering at her churches and at other community events and had a very strong Catholic Faith. She cherished spending time with family, neighbors and friends. She loved the holidays, particularly Christmas. She was a very kind, caring, devoted, generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She touched many people throughout her life.
A visitation at Holy Cross Church in Dewitt will begin at 9:30 AM with a mass at 10:00 AM on Monday August 24, 2020. Covid-19 precautions will apply. Private burial will be held at Candor Cemetery, Candor, NY
