Mike Stoogenke

October 2, 1962 — June 10, 2026

Michael Stoogenke left this earth on June 10, 2026 with family by his side and in the valley he adored. He grew up in Stamford, CT loving the outdoors and music, and had a unique way of looking at the world. He achieved his lifelong dream of living where there were mountains, and loved living in Tully Valley for the past 33 years. His family, cooking, the environment, reading, and maps were his greatest passions. Though he was interested in most any subject which made him a ringer on a trivia team. For Mike, “Food is Love” and he relished rarely making the same meal twice. “Enjoy it, you will never have it again” was his motto.

In 2004, he started working for ITT and ultimately L3Harris as a GIS analyst and helped launch flying equipment. He was involved in several notable projects including a weather satellite and the James Webb space telescope.

He is survived by his wife, Darcy, and his three sons Alexander, Samuel and Isaac. He is also survived by his parents, Dan and Joyce Stoogenke, brothers Peter Stoogenke and Larry (Susie) Stoogenke, his father and mother-in-law Neville Sachs and Carol Adamec and sisters and brother-in-law Amy (Kevin) Yam and Andrew (Karen) Sachs; as well as many nephews and nieces.

A special thank you to friends and family for supporting Mike and his family for the past year, and an extra special thank you to Steve and Mary Otter.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15 at 12 pm at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. Following the service will be a visitation from 1-3 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local food pantry in Mike’s name.
