Mary C. Lambert

Mary C. Lambert passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 27, 2016. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Jack Lambert, her parents Denis and Julianna O'Shea and Sister Patricia Maloney.
Mary grew up in the Bronx, NY. Mary and Jack moved to Yorktown Heights in 1965 where they raised three children John, Denis and Theresa. She worked as a secretary in the Yorktown School District for 35 years before retiring and moving to Syracuse to be closer to her family.
Mary was a devout Catholic and local Chapter President of the Columbiettes for 3 years.
Mary was happiest when surrounded by her family: John and Joan Lambert and their two children Ryan and Kate, Denis and Lynn Lambert and their two children Kelly and Casey, Theresa and Brian Underwood and their two children Megan and Christopher. Her sister Geraldine Gillespie and her husband Ken, her sister Sheila McNeil and her husband Ray.
She was an avid reader and loved to vacation on the beaches of Cape Cod and Long Beach Island, NJ sipping a Margarita with her toes in the sand.
Calling hours will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, July 29th at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10 AM at Holy Cross Church 4112 E. Genesee St. Dewitt. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Central New York would be appreciated.
