Mary Carroll

October 27, 1925 — February 23, 2019

Mary Baron Carroll, 93, passed away peacefully in the evening on Saturday February 23rd surrounded by family at her home in Cazenovia, NY. Mary was born October 27, 1925 in Auburn, NY. She was a graduate of St. Josephs School of Nursing Class of '49 and worked for many years as an RN at St. Joseph's Hospital and then Castle Rest Nursing Home in Syracuse while she raised her 6 children. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always loved having children around her. Mary was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Therese Parish (All Saints) for many years. She is predeceased by her husband John M. Carroll (2003), her daughter Diantha Schiller (2000), son-in-law William Schiller (2001), grandson Christopher Dygert (2018) as well as her two brothers, William Baron (2006) and Thomas "Tim" Baron (2010). Mary is survived by her five children, Noreen Dygert of Camillus, Mary Patricia Russell of N. Tonowanda, Daniel John (Heather) of East Syracuse, Thomas Brian (Robin) of New Caanan, CT and Willam James (Beth) of Cazenovia, NY along with 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A Funeral mass will celebrated at 11 am on Saturday March 2, at All Saints Church, 1340 Lancaster Ave. Syracuse. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10-11. Donations may be made to Hospice of CNY.
