Mary Ezontubebebo Belleh

Mary Ezontubebebo Belleh (née Ighogbunor) died peacefully in Tinley Park, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois on February 22, 2017 at the age of 71. She was married to the late Godfrey S. Belleh and had five children from the marriage.

Mary is survived by her children, Susan Belleh, Ene Belleh, Ellaye Belleh, Owei Belleh, Perek Belleh, her step-son Lewis Belleh and several grandkids, Oreamo Belleh, Maxwell Belleh, Alessandro Belleh, Elijah Belleh, Olivier Belleh and Cristiano Belleh.

Mary was born on April 13, 1945 in Lagos, Nigeria to Prince James Ighogbunor Gomuromur and Sadah Ighogbunor; part of the royal family of Agbodobri in Sagbama local government area in Delta state, Nigeria. Mary was a soft-spoken woman, with a gentle spirit and strong commitment and loyalty to family. She had a genuine love and an unbreakable bond with her husband of more than forty years. She sacrificed to provide a good education for her children. Besides raising six children, she also helped raise her late sister Betty Sinclair's four children, Evelyn, Peggy, Lucky and Godwin. Mary also provided for her elderly parents in Nigeria until their passing

Mary was an accomplished businesswoman. She owned her own bakery and catering service while living in Lagos. She loved cooking, watching classic movies, reading, and listening to music, especially Ebenezer Obey and Rex Lawson. She moved to the United States in 1987 with her husband and children and lived in Macon, Georgia, Omaha, Nebraska, Syracuse, New York and Tinley Park, Illinois over a thirty-year period. She worked as a CNA until her retirement in 2004 and was dedicated member of the Naperville Church of Christ in IL.

A funeral service was held Friday, March 3, 2017 at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home,
