Maria Panarites

Maria (Tzortzis) Panarites, 105, of Syracuse, NY passed away on Monday July 13, 2026. Born in Koupia (Lakonia) Greece in 1920 - Syracuse resident since November 1964. The oldest of 12 children Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Maria is pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Stamatios; her daughters; Christine (Panarites) Kalkinis and Susan (Panarites) Bletko. Grandson, James Calocerinos. Parents; Nikolaos and Chrysoula Tzortzis of Koupia, Lakonia Greece; Brothers and a sister in Greece. She is survived by her Daughter Diane (Panarites) Calocerinos, and sons Yiorgos, and Nicholas Panarites. Sibling, nieces, nephews in Syracuse, Canada and Greece; Five Grandchildren, Vickie Millimaci (Anthony), and Steven Calocerinos (Maria); Theone Kalkinis (Nektarios); Maria Kalkinis, and Dafne Kalkinis-Pappas (Yianni). Eight Great-grandchildren , Anthony (Alexandria), Alexandra, Michael Millimaci; Jayce and Sophia Calocerinos; Nefeli & Ariadne Pappas, Demosthenes Mantalios; and several siblings in Syracuse, Canada and Greece  

Services will be  Saturday, July 18 at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, calling hours 10-11 am , followed by Funeral Service at 11am. Burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Contributions St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Road Syracuse, NY 13224.
