Luis Rodriguez Gonzalez

Luis Rodriguez Gonzalez passed away on July 14th, 2023 at home in Syracuse NY at the age of 63. Luis was born in Cayey PR and raised by his grandparents, Carmen and Santos Gonzalez. He moved to Syracuse in 1978 and worked at Syracuse China as a teen where he met the mother of his two children, Jessica and Kimberly. While being adventurous in his youth, he grew to settle into the simplicity of coin collecting and fishing with good friends and family. He was a hunter, rarely seeing a deer but gearing up anyway. He cared for people and wanted the best for them. He was likable and always ready to extend a helping hand. He was funny and liked to poke fun and pester people. He would often joke he was the jack of all trades, master of none, and enjoyed helping family and friends with home repairs, but more than the projects, he enjoyed the companionship (and maybe a meal). He was always curious what was for dinner, and his homemade spanish rice will be missed, especially by his grandson. The Manuel Gonzalez family looked out for him and checked on him daily. 
Luis is survived by his daughters and their families; Jessica (Jason Deuel), Kimberly (Dan Sieburg) grandson Wyatt, his son Andrew Correa and his step father (Felix Rivera Robles) as well as many brothers and sisters from Puerto Rico and New York. He is predeceased by his mother (Antonia Gonzalez) and his father (Luis Rodriguez).
Funeral Services  will be Friday, July 21, 2023 at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 E. Genesee St. Syracuse. Visitation from 4-6 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 6 pm.
