Kathleen Waelder Haines

Kathleen Waelder Haines, 68, of Syracuse NY passed away peacefully on May 4^th, 2022, in her home. She was born in Rockville Centre, NY on Oct. 28^th, 1953, and was raised in Syracuse NY by her loving parents Patricia K. Waelder and William C. Waelder. Kathleen was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years in long-term care. She graduated from Crouse Hospital School of Nursing. She married her husband Charles Edward Haines on Nov 29^th, 1975, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Kathleen then became a loving mother of four children.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Charles Edward Haines, her parents Patricia and William Waelder, brothers Mark and William and sister-in-law Joan E. Banks. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Caleb Haines and Elise Finielz, Christopher and Allison Haines, Erika and Nathaniel Eber, Jeffrey Haines and 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses Karen Waelder, Eric (Phyllis Waelder), Marian Waelder, Neil and Ruth Waelder, Kristine Waelder, Monica Naslund, Maureen (Ross) Getman, Paul and (Patti) Waelder and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kathleen loved music and the arts. She was advocate for peace and exemplified a need for knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Kathleen enjoyed a good cup of coffee and was an avid reader. She was talented at sewing and loved making costumes for her grandchildren.  

Kathleen had many passions and talents however her love and attention was dedicated to the service of others and family.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 13^th, 2022, 4:00-7:00 pm at Burns Garfield Funeral Home . A Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, May 14^th, 2022, at 10 AM at the funeral home
