On Wednesday October 21, 2020, Katherine Lowry, 80, of Otselic, NY fell asleep in the Lord.
Born December 7, 1940 in Syracuse, NY she was the daughter of George T. Georgiades (Greece) and Veta (Vangel) Georgiades. She graduated from Nottingham High School in 1958. Kay and some friends arranged a double date where she met her future husband Ken Lowry who was on leave from the US Navy. They were married in 1959 and their first child Deana was born in 1960. Shortly thereafter Ken and Kay moved to Canada where they spent 4 years with daughter Debbie and son Michael born in Canada. In 1964 they returned to the US and settled in the North Country area.
Ken enjoyed a long career with Chrysler/NPG while Kay took care of everything else. Together they built Rebel Land, a miniature golf course and restaurant on Rt 69. Years later Ken and Kay built a hunting camp in Otselic, NY.
In recent years they enjoyed travelling and taking their RV to Florida for the winter months. Kay very much enjoyed their trip to Australia where they visited with Greek relatives. Other destinations included New Zealand, Hawaii, Italy and of course a visit to Greece for their 50th Anniversary.
Kay will be deeply missed by her family. She was always warm and loving to all who knew her. Her heart was open to all welcoming son in laws and daughter in laws into her family with open arms. Always smiling she was a steady hand of love as her family expanded. We love you Mom with all our heart.
