June Anne (Sabo) Dorschug passed away November 14, 2019. Born in Syracuse on June 18, 1919 to John and Emma (Linzenbold) Sabo. She was a graduate of Parish High School. She studied violin for many years and graduated from Comptometer School. Her volunteer activities included the Laubach Literacy Foundation, Girl Scouts, the Landmark Theatre renovation, and the First Presbyterian Food Pantry. Her hobbies included needlepoint, gardening, reading and sewing. She was a talented ceramic artist. For many years she was a Board of Elections Inspector. She also was a member and Elder at East Genesee Presbyterian Church. She loved spending winters in Vero Beach, Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Dorschug, her sister Clara Towell, and her grandson, John Patrick Dorschug. She is survived by her daughters, Janis (John) Louzek of Hollis, NH, Amy (Harrison) McKibben of Syracuse, her sons John Dorschug of Syracuse, and Mark (Patti) Dorschug of Burlington, NJ. Grandchildren, Katharine Louzek of New York City, George John Louzek of Nashua, NH., Matthew Dorschug of Burlington, NJ and John Lee Dorschug of Syracuse. She also leaves her beloved cats, Mariah and Tairone. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
