Judith Haley Sachs, 75, passed away in her sleep on February 9, 2018. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Judith graduated from Nottingham High School in 1960 and eventually received an Associate's Degree from CCBI. She spent the majority of her adulthood living in Liverpool with her family, until about ten years ago, when it became medically necessary for her to move to Loretto.
Judy, or "Grandma Juju" as she was known, loved crafts, music, her cats and her family - especially her children and grandchildren. She was a gifted singer, piano player and artist. She loved playing the guitar. When her children were younger, she spent many hours volunteering at Longbranch Elementary School. She loved the family trips camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She was a kind woman who will forever be known for her smile.
Judy is survived by her brother John and his wife Rosalie of Cicero; three of her children and their spouses - Darcy Sachs and Michael (Stoogenke) of Tully; Andrew and Karen of North Potomac, Maryland; Amy and Kevin (Yam) of Falls Church, Virginia - her eight grandchildren - Joseph, Lauren, Alexander, Matthew, Samuel, Benjamin, Mitchell and Isaac- her former husband and his wife - Neville Sachs and Carol Adamec of Camillus - her son-in-law and his wife Dan and Dawn Rose of Lutz, Florida; her sister-in-law Nina Haley of Dewitt, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lauren Rose, her parents, Frank (Jack) and Ruth Haley, her sister, Susan Walsh and her brother Timothy Haley.
The family would like to thank the staff of Loretto for giving Judith a loving, comfortable home for so many years.
Calling hours will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14th at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse. Funeral Services 10:00 am on Thursday February 15th. at Holy Cross Church in DeWitt.
