Janet Dellas

February 13, 1931 — March 29, 2020

Janet Alberta Perrine Dellas, age 89, passed away on March 29, 2020 in Fayetteville, New York. She was born Friday, February 13, 1931 in Utica, New York to Donald and Edna Perrine. She graduated from the Crouse School of Nursing in 1950, married John Dellas on June 3, 1952. She lived in Syracuse until moving to East Syracuse and ultimately the Towne Center RLC where she enjoyed making new friends and the wonderful staff members.
Janet had a keen sense of humor, and was smart, fiercely independent, sympathetic, and friendly to all she met. She was certainly opinionated, not hesitating to speak her mind. She loved to stay up to date with the latest technology, trends, news and gossip.
She was a loyal friend to those she met in her many activities – golf, tennis, bridge, skiing, exercise and others she enjoyed. She stayed close with her Crouse Nursing School classmates, Home Bureau members, and PEO members. She never hesitated to go anywhere. Travel with her friends and visits to family around the country and abroad were her favorites.
Janet is survived by 2 daughters, Lori Anne O'Dea (Bill O'Dea – her loving chauffeur of late), Kim Broderick (Richard), 3 grandsons RJ Broderick (Gemma), Josh Broderick (Megan), Zak Broderick (Anna), 4 great grandchildren Liam, Olivia, Hannah and Abigail Broderick, her sister Anna Marie Madden, brother-in-law Ted Dellas.
She was preceded in death by John Dellas, her husband of 50 years.
A private family burial service will be held on Wednesday, April 1 at Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse. A memorial service and celebration of Janet's life will be held at a date to be determined.
