Janet Costello

Janet (Olson) Costello, 97, of Fayetteville, New York and widow of Edward C. Costello, died Monday, September 4, 2023.  Born May 12, 1926, in Kewanee Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Inez (Hale) and Willard Olson. Janet attended and graduated from The Convent School in Syracuse and was employed by the New York Telephone Syracuse office until her marriage in 1947 to Edward. Miss Janet, as she was fondly known, was a nursery schoolteacher for many years at the Little Green School House in Fayetteville.

With her family, she resided in Fayetteville and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception parish for 65 years until health concerns placed her in the care of The Cottages of Garden Grove, Cicero New York.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, her sister, Elizabeth Egloff, and brothers Willard and Richard. She is survived by her sons, David (Karen) of St. Charles Missouri, Gregory of Knifley Kentucky, and Douglas (Deborah) of Cicero; as well as six (6) grandchildren and ten (10) great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Private services are being arranged through Burns & Garfield Funeral Home, Syracuse.
