Jane Viney Blizzard

Jane Viney Blizzard, 99, of Jamesville, NY, formerly of Wells, NY, passed away peacefully on August 4th surrounded by her family. She was born to Charles Mortimer and Marie Jaeger Viney in Jamaica, NY, but soon moved to Freeport, NY where she spent her youth. After graduating from Hempstead High School and Nassau College, she married the love of her life Henry Blizzard and raised 3 children in Massapequa, Long Island.

Jane and Henry moved to Wells in 1976, and their property in the Adirondack Mountains became a popular destination for friends and family for over 40 years. Their affinity for the outdoors was second only to their love of entertaining the many visitors who enriched their lives so deeply.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 78 years Henry M. Blizzard, 100, her children Gary, Bryan, and Susan Halleran, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and countless friends who will forever miss her gentle demeanor and warm spirit.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at "The Nottingham" for their attentive and devoted care for our Jane.

A funeral Mass was held in St. Ann's Church in Wells on Wednesday, August 8th, in accordance with her wishes.
