James Antwi Adjei

James Antwi Adjei, 61, of Syracuse passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Kumasi, Ghana, son of Yaa Brayie and the late Yaw Antwi Adjei. He had a deep love for the game of soccer which stemmed from where his youth playing days in Kumasi, Ghana where he played for the Kumasi Cornerstones. James immigrated to the United States from Kumasi, Ghana in 1981 where he was able to start a family with his beautiful wife Yaa Adjei. He was loved by everyone that knew him.
Survivng are his wife of 30 years, Yaa Adjei of Syracuse; a daughter, Jamillah of Syracuse, two sons Fred and Justin Adjei of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Taylor, Devon, Kyle, and Jaedon; a great-grand daughter, Olive Adjei; siblings, Grace Agyei, Osei Akoto Adjei, Helena Adjei, Adwoa Bonsu, Olivia Adjei, Bridget Busia, Bridget Appiah, Kwadwo Adjei, Yaw Darko Adjei, Kwabena Antwi Adjei, Kwadwo Adom; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday January 6th from 4pm- 8pm at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home. 3175 East Genesee St. Syracuse Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 7th at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home from 9am-11am. Burial will be from 12:30- 2pm at Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral Rites will be on January 7th, 2017 from 8pm- 2am at NYS Fairgrounds Empire Room.
