Jack was a graduate of Nottingham High School and Syracuse University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration. Jack held a professional engineering license in nine states and culminated a 40-year career with O'Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc. by serving as President for twelve years.
An active member in many professional, business and civic organizations at the local, state and national levels, Jack served as President of the Consulting Engineers of New York State, National Director of the American Consulting Engineers Council, Executive Councilor of Tau Beta Pi, and President of the Syracuse Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Beyond his professional success and community service, he was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather. He traveled to 46 of our 50 states during his professional career, but his favorite places were the house he built in Jamesville and his home in St. Croix. He cherished time with his family and prioritized making memories over material things. He was known for his wit and wisdom, his smile and his hearty laugh.
