Helen O'Donnell Woulf, age 86, died May 3rd at the Fahey Residence.
Helen was born and raised in East Syracuse, but lived in Syracuse all her adult life. She received her education locally and attended Nazareth College. Helen was a Departmental Secretary at the State University of New York Health Science Center for thirty three years, twenty two of which was in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Woulf; her parents Lawrence O'Donnell and Helen Walsh O'Donnell and her second mother Dorothy Bolmer O'Donnell.
She is survived by her recent caregivers, cousins Beth Parkinson and Carol Parkinson Fisher and sister-in-law Yvette Woulf Guilfoil. Helen is also survived by many cousins in the Parkinson, Rush, Percival, O'Donnell and LaRonde families. Also surviving are three nephews: William Guilfoil (Mary), John Guilfoil (Jennifer) and Robert Guilfoil (Elizabeth).
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Church on Monday, May 6th at 10:00 am. A calling hour will precede the mass at 9:00 am. The Rite of Committal will take place at St. Mary's Mausoleum.
The family wishes to thank the 4th floor Palliative Care unit at the Fahey Residence for the care and compassion shown to Helen.
