Helen Armatas, 93, Passed away Tuesday February 16, 2016 born in Syracuse, New York the daughter of Theodora & James Pandelly. Helen was the beloved wife of Andreas Armatas; sister of the late Chris Pandelly; dearest mother of Christina (Michael) Auer, Nicholas (Mary Ann) Malagisi, Diane (Jim) Marcus & Mary (Nick) Politis; adoring grandmother of Andrea and Martina Auer, Irene Marcus, John Politis, and Anastasia and Christopher Malagisi, sister-in-law of Zoe Armatas, aunt to Stephanie Armatas and nephew Jim Armatas, and first cousin of Koumbara Catherine (Pandelly) Joseph.
Helen loved her family more than anything. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. When she wasn't occupied with the family she could be found in the kitchen making her favorite Revani cake & apple pies.
Relatives & friends may call Friday, February, 19, from 4-7pm at Burns Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 E. Genesee St, Syracuse. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:30pm.
Funeral services will be performed at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd., Saturday morning at 10 AM, followed by internment at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church or the Alzheimer's Association of CNY.
