Giorgios Ioannou

Giorgios "George" Ioannou of Syracuse passed away October 13, 2024. Born February 5, 1933 in Korifi, Florina, Greece. He migrated to the United States in 1969. He was employed by EJ Purcell Roofing Company for many years and was known as "George the Roofing Guy". He was known and lovingly called by his great nieces and nephews as "Dodi". 

Predeceased by his parents, a brother; and two sisters. Giorgios is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Olga Nee (Anastasiou) Ioannou , and a brother as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd. Syracuse. Burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In leiu of flowers donations may be made to St. Sophia's Church.
