George Gustav Wehrle, 93, passed away on September 17, 2017 in his residence at the Nottingham, Jamesville, NY.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, he was a retired US Air Force Major serving his country during WW II, was a member of the Air Force Reserve and was a participant in the Honor Flight Program. After serving in the military he worked for Burroughs Corp. and Unisys Co. George enjoyed golfing at the Calvary Club, Coffee with his friends, traveling all over the world and spending time with his family. George was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, the former Marilyn DeVoll. He is survived by his children, John (Sigrid) Wehrle, Mary Ellen (Steve) Woiler, Carole Wehrle, David (Marilyn Blank) Wehrle. Grandchildren Carolyn (Peter Reyes), Matthew (Kirsten) Woiler, Jackson Wehrle and great-grandchildren Adam, Benjamin, Daniel and Merideth Reyes and Kylie and Olivia Woiler. Sister in law Linda (Bill) Nicolini, brother's in law John (Joyce) DeVoll, Doug (Donnie) DeVoll. Many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his care givers Martha and Marie. Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 pm on Saturday October 7th with a memorial service at 2pm at Burns Garfield Funeral Home 3175 E. Genesee St. Syraucse. Burial to follow with military honors at the Fayetteville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Church of Fayetteville.
