Ethan Rivard, 20, was escorted to heaven by angels on July 22, 2023. He was born on April 6, 2003 in Syracuse, NY. A fierce warrior, Ethan defeated two types of brain cancer before succumbing to a third. He was a graduate of Jamesville Dewitt high school, pursued culinary classes and had a deep love for all things Marvel, South Park, Buffalo Bills, games, music, coffee and everything seafood. His courage and spirit touched countless lives. Always the jokester, he loved making others laugh.
He leaves a lifetime of memories to his parents, Natalie and Tom, as well as his siblings, Lyla and Lucas. Ethan also had great love for his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. They all adored him in return.
He discovered deep connection and support through his many wonderful experiences with Camp Good Days and Camp Sunshine. We are grateful for the exceptional care he received through the years, provided by Golisano Children’s hospital in Syracuse and Brigham and Women’s in Boston.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 30 from 2-5 at Burns and Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 E Genesee St Syracuse, We encourage everyone to wear your favorite funny t-shirt in classic Ethan fashion. Services will be private followed by burial in White Chapel cemetery.
Donations may be made to Camp Good Days & Special Times in his honor.
