Ellen Taylor Bacon, 88, formerly of Syracuse, DeRuyter Lake, NY and Englewood, FL passed away on July 11, 2021 in Webster, NY. She was born in Norristown, PA, lived in several places before her family settled in Syracuse. She graduated from Eastwood H.S. and received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 1954.
Ellen married David Bacon on February 19, 1955 at University United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
Serving other people was her life's purpose. She unselfishly donated her time to family, community, and church activities. She supported her children's activities in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTAs (Edward Smith Elementary, Levy Junior High, Nottingham High) and Booster Club (Nottingham High). For more than 70 years, Ellen was an active member of University United Methodist Church, and also participated on the Boards of Junior League, Planned Parenthood, YWCA, PEO (Chapter M) and Portfolio Club.
On July 10, 2021, Ellen joined with family and friends to celebrate the life of her husband David who passed away on December 18, 2020.

Grandchildren Chrysa Charno (Jason) Webster, NY, Ryan Steenberg, Webster, NY, Sara Bergan (Jeremy), Webster, NY, Carol Thomas (Brandon) Eden Prairie, MN, Sahra Eggert (Seth), Carver, MN, Corrie Pratt (Andrew) Vienna, VA, Kate Lytle (Brendan) Champions Gate, FL, Taylor Bacon (Alex) Davie, FL, Christina Connors, Victor, NY, Kathy Brotherton (Mark) Phoenix, AZ, Matt Kimmel (Danielle) Chittenango, NY, Jeffrey Kimmel (Tanya) Cleveland, NY, David Kimmel (Laurie) Constantia, NY, James Kimmel (Adriana) Melbourne, FL, Louise Bacon, Henry Bacon, Frederick Bacon, Colchester, VT and 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, July 16th at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home at 3175 East Genesee St, Syracuse. There will be celebration of the lives of both Ellen and David on July 17, 2021, at 11 AM at University United Methodist Church, 1085 East Genesee St, Syracuse.
