Eilene S. O'Connor, 85, passed away peacefully February 3, 2016. Eilene was born September 9, 1930 in Syracuse, the daughter of John and Catherine Sheedy. She was a devoted mother to her children whom she loved and her generosity was only exceeded by her kindness.
Eilene went to high school at the Convent and graduated from LeMoyne College. She worked at Agway and Syracuse University. Eilene loved reading and gardening.
Predeceased by her husband Richard and sister Kathleen Sheedy. Eileen is survived by her daughters Ann (Dan) Rusinko , Martha (Mike) Spears, sons Daniel (Theresa), John (Krista) and Richard Jr. Her Sister Janet Munro Grandchildren Katie Grady (John), Sean, Megan and Connor Rusinko, Kelly and Lyndsey O'Connor. Great grandchildren Emma and Nolan Grady, Noah O'Connor.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 5th from 4:00-6:00 PM at Burns – Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13224. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8 am on Saturday February 6th at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee St. Dewitt Burial will follow in St Mary's cemetery, Dewitt, NY. The family is grateful to the Alzheimers association of CNY and the dedicated staff of the Sunnyside Care Center.
