Charles Schunck

Charles J. Schunck, age 77, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2020. Charles was born in Syracuse, New York to the late Charles J. and A. Bernice Schunck, on May 21, 1943. Charles was a devoted brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Liverpool High School in 1961. Charles received his undergraduate degree from Paul Smith's College and a Masters of Science in Education from SUNY Cortland.

Charles enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry with Holiday Inn hotel brand across the Central New York region. Charles also taught business courses at East Syracuse-Minoa High School, Jamesville-Dewitt High School and CCBI. He later taught personal finance courses at OCC, Cayuga BOCES and within the Auburn correctional facility.

Charles also loved his years as a bus tour guide throughout the northeast. His passion for providing a great customer experience was evident when many people joined him on repeat or new trips! He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool.

Charles is predeceased by his parents, his brother George and sister-in-law, Barbara.
Charles is survived by his two nephews, James (Kristen) and Lawrence (Karen), and niece, Lorraine (John View), all of Jamesville. Charles is also survived by one grandniece, Allison, and three grandnephews, Kenneth (Molly), Brendon and Matthew. The Schunck family would like to especially thank June, Olive, Dorvil and Ed who provided constant compassionate care for the last 3 years while Charles was in residence, along with appreciation to the Park Rose Estates staff. Due to Covid restrictions there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Dewitt. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Parkinson's research.
