Carol Porter

October 11, 1940 — June 14, 2017

Carol Will Porter of Fayetteville, NY and Snow Hill, MD passed away June 13th 2017 in her Fayetteville home with her family at her side. She was born October 11, 1940 in Syracuse, NY, to parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Will of the Will & Baumer Candle Company. Carol graduated from the Dana Hall School and Wheelock College. She taught kindergarten for 13 years in the Syracuse City Schools. Carol was a person who loved family and friends; she lived her life with love, grace, and dignity. She served on the boards of Syracuse Stage, Everson Museum, Oakwood Cemetery, was President and board member of the Syracuse Garden Club, and member of the Monday Club. She was a member of Park Central Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William W. Porter, the President of William Porter Real Estate; her daughter Melissa M. A. Porter of Fayetteville, NY; her son and daughter-in-law Mr. & Mrs William W. Porter Jr, of Raleigh, NC; two adoring grandchildren; two much loved cats; her sister Virginia Yeager; her nieces Karen and Charlotte Yeager, Elizabeth Murphy, and nephew Richard Burdick. A memorial service will be held at Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, NY on Tuesday, June 20 at 4:30 PM with a reception to follow at 6 PM at the Century Club. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Everson Museum and Hospice of Central NY
