Bernadette Vannelli

Bernadette Anne Vannelli, 81, passed away peacefully at Francis House on December 18, 2025. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, "Bernie" was a graduate of Nottingham High School and Onondaga Community College. Bernie spent her early career as a dental hygienist. She was later employed by Onondaga County Library from which she retired in 2010. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travel, music, and theater.

Bernie was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Christine Vannelli. and nephew Robert Vannelli. She is survived by her brothers Joseph (Nadine) of Mesa, AZ, and James (Marilynn) of Camillus, NY; Niece Maria O'Meara, and nephews Thomas, Patrick Joseph Jr., William and Mark Vannelli.

Bernie was a communicant of All Saints Parish in Syracuse . There will be a private burial service for her at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Donations in Bernadette's memory may be made to Francis House or Hospice of CNY. The family wished to extend gratitude to the staffs at the Upstate Cancer Center and Francis House for their excellent care during Bernie's illness.
