"Benzy" Harfosh, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Nottingham Nursing Facility on August 9, 2019, surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered for the love she gave to her extended family and hosting countless family celebrations. Benzy always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
Benzy graduated from Solvay High School where she was an all-star athlete for the girl's soft ball team. She graduated from the Powelson Business Institute and spent most of her career with the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company as an exemplary Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster.
She married Attorney William F. Harfosh during World War II. Benzy was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dewitt and long-term member of the Daughters of Columbus charitable organization. She was an avid golfer and long-time member of Drumlins County Club.
Benzy is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Harfosh-Labuz (Alfred) of DeWitt, William A. Harfosh (Peggy) of Fayetteville, grandchildren AJ Harfosh (Shannon) of Hoboken, NJ, Billy Harfosh of Scottsdale, AZ, Suzanne Golden (Roger) of Jamesville, Stephanie Labuz of Bryn Mawr, PA and four great grandchildren.
