Alice Jelda, 75, passed away on Monday November 9th at Upstate University Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer. After her husband, Jabra Tarazi passed away at a young age; Alice devoted her life to raising their five successful children, Iman Shahine, Joseph Tarazi, Akram Tarazi, Mona Tarazi-Khouri, and Ihab Tarazi. She was also a loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren. As an elementary school teacher, she impacted the lives of many in her community as well.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10 -11 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Road, Syracuse. A procession will follow to Oakwood Cemetery . Donations may be made in her memory to Upstate Cancer Center. Flowers may be sent to Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church.
